This Thing is Like that Thing: Unstopable Trains Edition

It’s voting day! Yes, that is Ron Johnson and me at Lambeau Field. To read more about our deep friendship go to Esquire or to The Awl.
A trend in Wisconsin is far right tea party conservatives eschewing the traditional (patriotic?) red and stars for a green that suggests they are somehow progressive or, even more laughable, a friend of the environment. (Ron Johnson suggests that sun spots cause global warming.)

Tim T-Paw Pawlenty, outgoing governor of Minnesota and GOP Presidential hopeful, found an old local news report background in a dumpster and decided to record a message for Obama’s visit to the People’s Republic of University of Minnesota. I cannot decide what my favorite part is, where the governor criticizes Obama for spending money, including the $2 billion in stimulus Minnesota gladly accepted or the “Minnesota Nice” passive aggression at the end. What’s yours?!
Ladies and gentlemen, Tim will be here all week. Try the veal and remember to tip your waitresses.
A new ad from the Responsible Citizens Against Government Waste.
VW and the Los Angeles Deutsch ad agency are mocking your pathetic little “fly-over state” dream of owning a VW Jetta.

Here is Sean Duffy mocking fellow tea party candidate Christine O’Donnell. Sean is the “Lumberjack” Candidate for Congress in Wisconsin’s 7th District. Just how lumberjack is he? After the jump… (more…)
Here’s the snazzy video One Wisconsin Now put together detailing the story it broke about Wisconsin tea party leaders plotting with the organization American for Prosperity and the GOP to deter voting.

That heavily-bearded special forces trooper is making the rounds, on the cover of the latest version of the Medal of Honor video game series, Kill Some Ragheads, and used in a Facebook ad for “BE A CIA AGENT.”
Is the next style icon for Generation Kill Some Shit Iron and Wine’s Sam Beam?!
Nike’s new ad campaign is themed “boom!” As expected, it’s slicker than a non-stick fry pan, chock full of all the best personalities money can buy. Even the hilarious Hot Tub Time Machine and The Office comedian Craig Robinson is in one version. One problem, Robinson grew up in Chicago, went to college at Illinois State, got his masters at Chicago Saint Xavier U. and got his start at that city’s legendary Second City troupe. So here’s his Nike commercial featuring him cheering for the Yankees’ Robinson Cano.
Congratulations Craig, becoming a Yankees fan means you’ve really made it. Just ask one of the team’s other bandwangon jumping sellouts.
