And here is the Apple product placement in the upcoming Tron: Legacy. An old Mac.

Looks like Flynn upgraded. After the jump, its predacessor, the original Tron Apple Mac.

You can make out fairly clearly that the Apple in the original movie is an Apple III. The III was a bit of an oddball; it was an extension from the Apple II line, but famously wasn’t very compatible with the II. It also had a reputation for unreliability, partly due to the lack of cooling fans, and one official service note said to raise the computer 2-3″ above the desk and drop it to re-seat and ICs that had started to wriggle out of their sockets due to the heating/cooling cycle.
