WTF on Chestnut

What’s happening on Chestnut. First, there is this home on the corner of 6th where the lot’s tree, which had to be nearly 100 years old (just look at that stump next to the man), was chopped down. Old dude was just sittin’ there on the porch smiling with approval. I am not sure if it was an elm but it’s likely, which would be a huge tragedy. Dutch elm disease has killed half of America’s elms. And we’re cutting the down?

And then, the above is a new home built on the corner of Chestnut and 8th. Notice anything odd? Now, I understand we don’t all want to be best friends with our neighbors; but to put ZERO windows on that side of the house? There are such things as shades, you know.  After the jump, a more accurate image of this fine new home.
