Does Jeep know it starred in Twilight?
Prior to the release of Terminator: Salvation, I noted how Jeep, after making such a great showing in the original Terminator, was blowing its product placement opportunity. And with the film already being taken off some screens, the lack of buzz about Jeep’s showing seems to have proven me right.
Meanwhile, I just got around to seeing Twilight. And my two impressions:
1) Does it bother anyone else that essentially this is a story about a 17 year old girl and a 100 year old man? Sure, he looks 17, but he has the experience of an old, old man. People get upset when a 17 year old girl dates a 27 year old man. WTF?

2) Jeep completely rocked as the getaway ATV of choice in key scenes. (Apparently, “good” vampire Emmett’s ride of choice, a Jeep, is also part of the original novel.) And the Jeep’s starring role hasn’t been missed by fans; one going so far as to make a rather impressive fake Twilight Jeep commercial. With Twilight being a product placement juggernaut, Jeep has managed a coup of publicity and attention with a very lucrative demographic for one of its flagship models.
So what is Jeep doing to add to or leverage all of this free publicity?
