I’ve mentioned Belstaff before and what an extraordinary job the brand does not just of getting its products into films but also of doing the most to take advantage of, and promote, those placements.
And it is looking like Belstaff is going to have a hell of a summer.
Now Joining Terminator: Salvation and Inglorious Basterds is Johnny Depp in Public Enemies, putting Belstaff on the backs of a trifecta of men women want and men want to be. And what better promo is there for Belstaff than to have Depp actually keep his Dillinger coat and wear it off-screen?

Seeing an Apple product in an animated feature is always more jarring than usual because it didn’t need to be there (i.e., Bolt.)
While set designers can argue that using real products lends a production the flavor of reality, animators really cannot say the same. Why put an identifiable product into an animated sequence if it isn’t going to add anything? Below, a recent episode of The Simpsons. This comes after last year’s kerfuffle over The Simpsons’ storyline mocking Apple and its “culture.”
(When looking at Lisa’s workstation, keep in mind that The Simpsons are supposed to be perpetually broke.)
