Current & Upcoming: Apple Product Placement
Here is a sampling of some of the in current release and upcoming releases where Apple has been, as usual, heavy in the area of product placement. Each is graded for the hell of it.
I Love You, Man
Creative industry use. Grade: A

Crank 2: High Voltage
Had your nearly indestructible heart stolen and replaced with a battery-powered one that requires intermittent jolts of electricity to keep it going? There’s an app for that! Grade?: D

Answer Man
What do chiropractors and Macs have in common? Grade: A
Much more after the jump…
17 Again
Rich, price-is-no-object computer gamer using Apple screens? Maybe. Grade: C-

Duplicity
Secret agents are Apples? Hmmmm. Grade: D

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
Wealthy, self-absorbed image-conscious narcissist an Apple man? Grade: A

Adoration
The Mac seems believable. Grade: B

Night at the Museum 2
Honestly, that might not be an Apple cinema screen but it sure looks like one and it’s dumb to bet against an Apple placement. Grade: Incomplete

Funny People
Hollywood people with Macs. Grade: A- (not an A+ because this comedian is supposed to be struggling so why would he pay extra for the black?)

Sorority Row
A sorority girl needs a MacBook like fish needs a bicycle water. Grade: A-

Objectified
A documentary about industrial art and how it impacts our lives. Apple is expected. Grade: A+

Post Grad
Recent college grad having a “pre-life crisis” uses her Mac to apply for jobs at places that use Macs. (Also: ee above re: sorority girls). And yet, the PowerBook might be much for someone yet to find a job. Grade: B+

The Proposal
Corporate types with iPods. Grade: A

Fame
Another “maybe” showing. Sure looks like an iPod though. Grade: Incomplete

The last two images are from the Eddie Murphy film Imagine That, which really looks like Apple’s most promising role of the summer, and probably the year. In the clip from the trailer, Murphy, a rich trader or broker or something, and daughter actually bond while playing with the Mac Photo Booth program’s image effects. This real Mac use is exemplary when compared with, say, Adoration’s (above) fictional screen action. Grade: A+

More to come, for sure.
