Simpsons’ Apple Product Placement: Doh!
Seeing an Apple product in an animated feature is always more jarring than usual because it didn’t need to be there (i.e., Bolt.)
While set designers can argue that using real products lends a production the flavor of reality, animators really cannot say the same. This comes after last year’s kerfuffle over The Simpsons’ storyline mocking Apple and its “culture.”
(When looking at Lisa’s workstation, keep in mind that The Simpsons are supposed to be perpetually broke.)
